This article of the month comes to us from Dr. Arwa Nada, evaluating a recent article about AKI rates after critical congenital heart disease surgery. In this retrospective single center study of 317 neonates, the rate of AKI was 36%. AKI was also associated with increased mortality and more complicated admissions with longer respiratory support.
